Shared hosting

Shared hosting is a low cost solution for startup website. If you have limited traffic and your website is still growing, you can go for shared hosting service. In shared hosting, other clients websites will be hosted on the same server where your website is hosted. Server resources will be shared with all websites hosted on the server. Most hosting providers restricted the resources to each website so that it cannot be abused. This will make sure that one website cannot cause a problem to other websites on the same server.

VPS hosting

VPS hosting (also known as Virtual Private Server) is useful for those clients who are looking for a low cost solution (cannot afford dedicated hardware) but still need full server access (root or administrator access). In VPS hosting, user gets full server access but it still share the resource with other VPS on the same host. Your server will be resided on a high capacity dedicated server where other clients’ servers are created.

You will get the server resources based on your plan (i.e. RAM, CPU, Disk etc.). You can select the plan based on your RAM, CPU and disk requirements. With most providers, you will get dedicated RAM and Disk space but CPU can be shared with other VPS on the same server. You should select the provider which can offer better CPU and it does share with other VPS on the same server. This will allow you to use maximum CPU which is allocated to your server.

Dedicated Hosting

In dedicated server hosting, you are purchasing a dedicated hardware from the provider. That means your server’s hardware is dedicated to you and it will not be shared with other clients. You can fully utilize your available resources. Since you are purchasing a dedicated hardware resources, such type of hosting will cost you more but it will allow you to handle more traffic and resource based on your server selection. Dedicated hosting is suitable for those clients who are looking a dedicated resources and do not want to share the server resources with others.
