It is recommended to use secure cPanel URL to access your cPanel account. By default cPanel uses self-signed SSL certificate to use secure cPanel URL but it is also possible to install valid SSL certificate to avoid any browser warning. You can access secure cPanel using the following ways:
[1] Access secure cPanel using IP address and port 2083
https://IP_Address:2083
Replace IP_Address with actual IP address of your hosting provider. Please note that the above URL will give a warning in browser because we are accessing secure URL using the IP address. You can add exception in your browser to proceed.
[2] Access secure cPanel using domain and port 2083
If you have already pointed your domain to your hosting provider’s server, you can access secure cPanel using the following URL:
https://yourdomainname:2083
Please note that the above URL will give a warning in browser because we are accessing secure URL using the domain name. Generally cPanel uses self signed SSL or shared SSL (if it is configured) to access secure cPanel URL. You can add exception in your browser to proceed.
[3] Using server hostname and port 2083
If your hosting provider has installed shared SSL on the server’s hostname and it is configured for cPanel service, you can access secure cPanel using the following URL:
https://Server_Hostname:2083
This should not produce any warning if shared SSL is configured properly for cPanel service.
