In shared hosting, other clients websites will be hosted on the same server where your website is hosted. Server resources will be shared with all websites hosted on the server. Most hosting providers restricted the resources to each website so that it cannot be abused. This will make sure that one website cannot cause a problem to other websites on the same server.

VPS hosting

VPS hosting (also known as Virtual Private Server) is useful for those clients who are looking for a low cost solution (cannot afford dedicated hardware) but still need full server access (root or administrator access). In VPS hosting, user gets full server access but it still share the resource with other VPS on the same host. Your server will be resided on a high capacity dedicated server where other clients’ servers are created.

With most providers, you will get dedicated RAM and Disk space but CPU can be shared with other VPS on the same server. You should select the provider which can offer better CPU and it does share with other VPS on the same server. This will allow you to use maximum CPU which is allocated to your server.
