I am not using Red Hat on my desktop but I have it on my server.

We downloaded the 700 MB live CD ISO file: once burned to a disc - as usual with Linux Mint - allows you to boot from the CD and test the operating system without installing. You of course, pay a time penalty for this, and once when we start the distribution of high, double-click Install Linux Mint 8 icon on the desktop.

CentOS is really easy to use and manage. Will suggest to use CentOS to all newcomers.
