How to redirect using META Tags
« on: November 04, 2008, 02:44:45 AM »
Hi,

Sometime you may need to redirect your html or htm (static pages to another URL). You can do this using the META tag redirection. you just need to add the following code in your code to redirect the page:

Code: [Select]
<META http-equiv="refresh" content="1;
             URL=http://www.webhostingdiscussion.net">

Can I use META redirection to set permanent redirection ? or it will not be considered as 301 redirection.

It will not be considered permanent redirection. For that you will need to use other code or you can also use .htaccess rules for Apache server.
