Migrate Joomla website from another server to my VPS

Hi,

I have a VPS and I am hosting few of my and my friend's websites. Most of them are static websites. Now, my friend wants to transfer his one the Joomla website from his current host to my VPS (Linux VPS - cPanel). Since this is unmanaged VPS, my host will not help me and I am not good in website transfer (specially database website). Can anybody provide me step by step guideline to migrate Joomla website?

Thanks for the details. I am in process to migrate the web site but faced some MySQL restore related issue. I got the details from other thread to resolve it. Thanks for the help!
