Hi,

I manually changed httpd.conf file for one virtualhost but today I noticed that the changes were reverted automatically by cPanel. I want to override some settings for one particular account and that was the reason I edited httpd.conf file present in /usr/local/apache/conf/. Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks for your help!

This is the way cPanel works. It is not recommended to modify main httpd.conf. Instead of this, you should use include file to override default settings for any virtualhost. For more details, refer our article Customize httpd.conf for VirtualHost in cPanel.

Hi,

Thanks for the article. I was able to create include file to override default settings.

Thanks!

It is indeed great article. Many users do not know how to overwrite certain settings using include file on cPanel server and due to this they end up with modifying main apache configuration file (httpd.conf) and they loss the settings when it is rebuilt.
