Hey Carolyn,

Haven't tried RareCloud myself, so I can't say much about their uptime or how strictly they enforce their rules. Finding a genuinely permissive host in Europe can definitely be a headache.

I've seen a few people mention BigCloudy Cheap Web Hosting recently for more flexible hosting since they added some UK servers. Might be worth taking a quick look at their hosting and domain setups to see if their terms fit what you're trying to do. Definitely dig around for some recent user reviews before pulling the trigger anywhere, though! Good luck with the search.

Hi AlexTeo,

Great question! Your requirements are spot-on for a business site with growth potential. Here's my take:

On Hostpro.com: While I haven't used them personally, their reputation for backups is good. However, for a business site with gradual traffic growth, I'd recommend

Verifying a few things:

Scalability options - Can you easily upgrade from shared → VPS → dedicated as you grow? You don't want to migrate hosts during growth spurts.

PHP/database versions - Ensure they support PHP 8.x and MySQL 8.0+ for performance and security.

Support response times- test their "adequate technical support" claim. Send a pre-sales ticket and see how fast they respond.

Alternative to consider:
I'd also suggest looking at bigcloudy.com - they specialize in scalable business hosting with excellent uptime guarantees and automatic scaling features that handle traffic spikes smoothly. Their platform is built specifically for growing businesses with the stable PHP/database environment and automated backups you're looking for.

Worth comparing their business plans alongside Hostpro.

My recommendation: Evaluate both based on your 12-month traffic projections. Start with a plan that has room to grow, set up monitoring (UptimeRobot, etc.), and always test your backups before you need them!

Good luck with the launch!

I've heard good things about PlanetHoster, but you might also want to check out BigCloudy wordpress hosting – they offer solid performance with competitive pricing. Worth comparing before you decide!

Web Hosting / Re: best web hosting provider ?

I've tried different hosts looking for that sweet spot between cheap and actually good. Currently with BigCloudy cPanel hosting, and its affordable rates, but you're not sacrificing speed or support like with the bargain-basement options.

VPS Hosting / Re: The best VPS provider ...

I've seen good results with managed VPS hosting for similar setups. Make sure whoever you choose offers automatic backups and staging environments, which saves a lot of headaches.

Support response time matters more than most people think.
